ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had a telephonic conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and discussed bilateral relations with him.
The two sides reiterated their resolve to strengthening the cooperation and engagements in all fields of diplomacy. Bilateral issues such as enhancing trade and investment relations, climate change, agriculture and security came under discussion, said a handout issued by the government.
They underscored the need to expand the ties to such fields where there are vast opportunities for both the nations to exploit.
The two sides also discussed the situation in Gaza, the Red Sea and developments in Afghanistan. They expressed their satisfaction over the current positive momentum in bilateral relations and agreed to further cement them.
It may be mentioned here that this was the first telephonic contact of FM Dar with his US counterpart after assuming charge following the formation of the new government in Islamabad.
