Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi invited to visit Pakistan

President Asif Ali Zardari in a telephonic conversation with Iranian counterpart expresses concerns over Israeli attack on Iran's embassy.

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has invited his Iranian counterpart Seyed Ebrahim Raisi to visit Pakistan which the latter has accepted, according to a statement issued by the President House.

It said Zardari telephoned President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi to congratulate him on Eidul Fitr. He also condemned the recent attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus by Israel and expressed condolences over the deaths in the attack.

The two sides discussed the overall security situation in the region. They also discussed the join efforts to eliminate terrorism in the regionĀ 

The president expressed his concern over the humanitarian crisis and the genocide being committed by the Israeli forces and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

President Zardari assured his Iranian counterpart that Pakistan would continue to work with Iran in all areas of mutual interest to further boost bilateral cooperation.

Tension has been high in the region after the Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus as Iran has vowed to revenge the aggression. In reply, the Zionist state has said if Tehran attacked any if its installations, it would face an all out war.
