Kashmiris praise Zardari for solidarity speech

APHC says Kashmiri people owe debt of gratitude to Pakistan for consistently supporting Kashmir cause.

SRINAGAR: People of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday showered praise on President Asif Ali Zardari for expressing support to Kashmiris and highlighting the lingering issue of Kashmir during his speech at the Pakistan Day parade.

President Zardari paid tributes to Kashmiris for their unparalleled sacrifices, both during the Pakistan Movement and in the ongoing struggle for their freedom from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In his message on Pakistan Day, the president said, “On this auspicious occasion of Pakistan Day, I extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to each one of you.”

“Today, as we commemorate the historic passage of the Pakistan Resolution on 23rd March 1940, a day that laid the foundation for the creation of our beloved nation and an independent homeland, let us reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and reaffirm our commitment to a prosperous and united Pakistan.”

All Parties Hurriyat Conference’s spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar said Kashmiri people owed a debt of gratitude to Pakistan for continuously and consistently supporting the Kashmir cause.

Meanwhile, posters once again surfaced in Srinagar, Bandipora Doda and other areas of IIOJK with solidarity and greeting messages for the people and government of Pakistan on Pakistan Day.

The APHC AJK leaders Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and Ghulam Muhammad Safi also felicitated the people and government of Pakistan.
