Mirwaiz asks India to release Kashmiri political prisoners

APHC leader condemns occupying forces for curtailment of freedom of movement.

SRINAGAR: Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned the occupying regime for blatant rights abuses and curtailment on his free movement.

Addressed a gathering, he said that the occupying forces kept him under detention even in Ramazan, curtailing his right to free movement. The senior APHC leader has been kept under house arrest for long and is even not allowed to offer prayers in the area mosque.

He called upon the international community to press India for release of hundreds of political prisoners languishing in Indian jails under fake cases registered under draconian laws.

The only objective of the Indian occupation regime to put political leaders in jail is to silence the voice of the masses who have been up in arms against the Indian illegal occupation of Kashmir.

Following the revocation of Kashmir’s special status in August 2019, the Modi regime has intensified repression against innocent Kashmiris and imposed more curbs on them to suppress their political, religious, social and economic freedoms.
