Mohsin Naqvi named PCB chairman for three years

Post fell vacant after resignation of Zaka Ashraf on January 19, 2023.

LAHORE: Caretaker chief minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi was on Tuesday appointed as the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board for a tenure of three years.

The Pakistan Cricket Board in a post on social networking forum of X announced, “Mr Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has been elected unanimously and unopposed as the Pakistan Cricket Board’s 37th Chairman today.” 

Earlier, the board of governors of the PCB held a meeting here and decided to appoint Naqvi as the chairman of the PCB.

The post of chairman of the board fell vacant on January 19 after the resignation of Zaka Ashraf.

Mohsin Naqvi was today elected unopposed chairman of the PCB. He is us the 37th chairman of the board and is expected to take charge after the Feb 8th elections when he would step down as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab.
