Utility Stores Corporation decides not to buy sugar from local sugar mills

The Utility Stores Corporation has decided to buy imported sugar instead of local one. Sugar from local sugar mills is Rs. 15 per kg more expensive than imported sugar.

According to the Utility Stores Corporation, now the utility stores will buy imported sugar at Rs 82 per kg and sell it at Rs 68. Utility stores are getting local sugar at Rs 97, which will make them dependent on imported sugar.

According to government sources, the Utility Stores Corporation will not be involved in any kind of blackmailing of sugar mills. Utility Stores Corporation cancels tender for 35,000 metric tonnes of sugar from local sugar mills.

As sugar is available in large quantities at utility stores, the condition of other purchases for buying 2 kg of sugar has also been removed. Sugar is available at utility stores but not satisfied with urban standards. It is said that the imported sugar is fine and not sweet.
