Pakistanis in Barcelona Celebrate Marka-e-Haq Anniversary

BARCELONA: A ceremony was held in Barcelona under the chairmanship of Murad Ali Wazir, Consul General of Pakistan, to mark the first anniversary of “Operation Haq” and “Bunyan Marsous”.

There was a large participation from the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities as well as individuals from different walks of life.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem.

A special documentary was also screened, highlighting the historic success of the operation and paying tribute to the bravery, professionalism, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.

Participants praised the role of both civilian and military leadership, stating that the operation stands as a defining chapter in Pakistan’s history and demonstrates the nation’s unity in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A number of community representatives addressed the gathering, reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. Speakers emphasized that lasting peace in South Asia depends on resolving the issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

They also appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace in the Middle East, noting its responsible role in easing tensions between Iran and the United States and its continued commitment to dialogue and regional stability.

At the conclusion of the event, Consul General Murad Ali Wazir and other community leaders congratulated the nation on the anniversary and paid tribute to the leadership and the armed forces, acknowledging their professionalism and sacrifices in safeguarding the country.

In his closing remarks, Murad Ali Wazir described “Operation Haq” as a symbol of Pakistan’s restraint, dignity, and commitment to peace. He reaffirmed that while Pakistan believes in regional peace and respect for international law, it remains fully capable of defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The ceremony ended with a special prayer for the country’s progress, security, and prosperity.
