RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday thanked Saudi Arabia, Britain, Gulf courtiers and United States of America for assisting Pakistan in testing times.

He was speaking at the “Meeting for Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development” at the World Economic Forum held in Riyadh on Monday.

“We have to stand on our own feet, which is difficult but not impossible. Our power sector is in shamble and revenue sector in tatters,” the prime minister said. However, he reiterated his government’s commitment to put Pakistan on track of progress and place it in the comity of nations through hard work.

The prime minister said, “We have introduced massive structural reforms in different sectors to put the economy on right trajectory.”

About the issue of climate change, the prime minister said Pakistan’s contribution to the gas emission was not even up to the fraction of a percent but our country was facing the challenge as the most vulnerable country.  He said Pakistan incurred a loss of 30 billion dollars in terms of economics due to the worst floods in 2022.
